I was born in Santa Fe, N.M. and stayed there through High School. I was involved in Theatre and Singing throughout my school days. I graduated in 1986- a true 80’s girl with big bangs and leg warmers.
Radio was not “my” original plan. As a single Mom with two small children I worked through college and was asked to be a guest on our Universities Radio station. It only took one time and I was hooked on radio and knew it was something I really wanted to do as a “hobby.” I went on to complete my Bachelors Degree in Psychology thinking I would become a counselor. God had other plans!
I have been in radio since 1994, with previous stations including KWLD- Plainview, TX, KSLT - Rapid City, SD, Free 107 - Lubbock, TX, and Nashville's WAY-FM. I also spent some time with Salem's XM station - The Fish.
One of the things I enjoy most about our morning show is how much fun keeping Doug in line with an occasional “Douglas!!!” or “Listen here Mister!” can be. He is a great friend to work with. Roughest part of the job is loving that 3a.m. alarm clock.
My favorite movie is "It's a Wonderful Life." It’s an awesome movie to remind you that the world would be a less pleasant without you in it. I would say it’s a year round movie but my girls don’t let me start watching it until Thanksgiving.
I married Russell, my true soul mate, back on October 25th 2008. (Doug was a groomsman and DJ for our reception – it’s all about who you know. ;-) ) My oldest daughter-Lauren has just completed her Sophomore year of college and my youngest daughter- Alexia and new step son Boe have graduated from High School and will head off to college. I love my family and they are the joy of my life!
My favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11 which says “I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
